What tissue bank accreditation actually means
The American Association of Tissue Banks was founded in 1976, and its Standards for Tissue Banking — first published in 1984 — remain the only private tissue banking standards in the United States. They’re detailed enough to have shaped federal regulation and international directives since. AATB accreditation means an organization has passed a comprehensive inspection verifying it operates to those standards, start to finish.
